Corn Maze Living
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
It’s that time of year, when the corn field is transformed into an intricate corn maze. It is filled with fun twists and turns that keeps the adventurer seeking for the right path that will lead them to the other side. There are various trails that lead into the main path, while others just lead to a dead end. Often times you find yourself going in the wrong direction, but certain that you can trace your steps and find the correct way.
My one corn maze experience was not totally enjoyable. At first we were laughing along the path while eating candy corn, but when we ventured off in separate directions, I found myself stuck in the middle of the maze. Every path that I chose led me into deeper confusion. I tried following others who seemed to be experts at this maze thing, but they were no better at it than I. In total exasperation I finally called out for my family to get me unstuck.
Oh, my goodness! Does life feel like a crazy fall festival corn maze or what?
Each morning I get my perspective headed in the right direction, but can quickly find myself stuck in discouragement, uncertainty and confusion. The voices of others can sound so right, but soon find I was misled to another dead end.
Which way is the right way? What is the right decision for the moment?
If I peek down too many paths, my thoughts lead me to a hopeless and helpless dead end. I find that it is crucial to lock my eyes, thoughts and heart on the Lord. Constantly looking to Him and seeking Him for everything. God’s word brings us great counsel and shows us how to follow His right path. His way is always perfect and will not mislead us. Our part is to keep our focus on Him and our ears tuned to His voice.
So today, wherever you are in the maze of your life, I want to shout out a word of encouragement to all of us. If we know Jesus, we are not lost. If we know Him as our Good Shepherd, we will not remain stuck in the wrong place. He watches you and cares for you and He answers when you call. Praise God, He does not leave us to ourselves to figure out which way to go.
I invite you to allow His word to lead you and put your feet on the right path this day.
My heart is steadfast, O God; my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and make music with all my being. Psalms 57:7
Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble.
Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you. Psalms 50:15
He will not fear bad news;
His heart is steadfast, trusting [confidently relying on and believing] in the LORD.
Psalms 112:7
“He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry;
when He hears it, He will answer” Isaiah 30:19
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
God wants to be found by you. He loves the lost. He came to seek and to save those who are lost. If you do not know Him as your personal God, cry out to Him and He will save you. If you know Him but have lost your way, call to Him and He will answer you. If you are just stuck in the middle of a difficult and painful path of life right now, He is with you and will never leave you alone. Call on Him and He will deliver you.
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
