Taste and See - Part 2
"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8
Today, I continue with part two of last week’s blog, Taste and See. (Click here to read.) The bucket of my heart is full of the goodness of the Lord. Once again I encourage you to take as much as you want for yourself.
I agree with the psalmist of Psalm 107:9:
“How He satisfies the souls of thirsty ones and fills the hungry with all that is good!”
His GOODNESS goes on and on. It is never ending. I know it is hard to believe but His goodness chases us down. He longs to bless you with all of Himself.
His GRACE is absolutely the best. It covers me like a blanket. It is God’s unmerited favor. I love that the Webster dictionary defines grace as: "unmerited divine assistance". He gives new grace for each new day. Take all that you want.
“My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.” 2 Corinthians 12: 9
His PROVISION is available day by day. I empty the bucket each day, wondering how in the world I will make it tomorrow, but manna is on the ground waiting the next morning. No need to overfill the bucket, with fear that there will not be enough tomorrow. Day by day, He provides everything we need.
His SECURITY gives me confidence to trust and not fear. I am hidden in Him and He has me and all that concerns me.
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” Psalm 62:1-2
His FAITHFULNESS is always in action. He cannot be unfaithful. I love how one of our speakers said it at Touching Hearts yesterday. “My life gives evidence that He is 100% faithful.” He always does what He says He will do. He is our promise keeper and we can depend on Him.
Even when it appears that He is not faithful, He is.
Obviously this blog could go on and on. Please feel free to join in and share from your bucket what you know to be true of Him today. As we share the goodness of the Lord with one another, faith and hope arises in our hearts. Let’s believe God to be who He is.
I have so enjoyed the journey through the garden this summer. I pray that you have uprooted many lies and planted His word in the garden of your heart. He promises that His word does not return void but accomplishes what it was sent to do. Keep planting His word in your heart and a harvest will grow. Sow your seeds in tears and watch the joy burst forth.
“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
“Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6
